Kyle Larson Sweeps the Weekend at Auto Club Speedway
After finishing in 2nd
place for the last three consecutive races, Kyle Larson finally find his way
into in the win column for the second time in his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup
career. Larson also swept this weekend by
winning the race on Saturday in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This was a good weekend for Chevrolet as well
with Larson wins.
I knew Larson win was coming
soon. I knew it was sooner than
later. Whenever a driver continues to
finish in the top-5 consecutively in these races, the win was coming. The problem sometime is when it was coming,
but those 2nd consecutive finishes were an insight to me that Larson
was going to win sooner than later. I am
also going to say that he will win again.
I’m happy for Larson and
Chevrolet. These last few weeks all the
commentators and analysts have been talking about is Ford. Ford is the manufacturer to beat. It made me mad to hear that because it is
early in the season. I did not really see
Ford dominating these races compared to what Toyota did last season. I like Chevrolet, but I do not see a
manufacturer dominating this year. I
think this is going to be the year that no manufacturer will run away with the
title. It is going to be a very close
race and this has been a long time coming.
Toyota ran away with it last year, and Chevrolet has been running away
with it for a long time. But this will
be a close one this year and it is a good thing.
I do in a way want Chevrolet to come
back and win it. And they can do
it. Everybody keeps saying that since
Chevrolet lost Stewart Haas Racing to Ford, it will hurt them. Well, I want to say that it isn’t going to
hurt them. It isn’t like SHR is doing
much for Ford so far. Kurt Busch was
lucking to win the Daytona 500 race because everybody else ran out of
fuel. And what have they done since that
win? Exactly!!! They haven’t been doing much. So, please stop with the Ford is dominating
and SHR is doing a lot for Ford.
All Chevrolet needed was other Chevrolet teams to step it
up. I was not worried about Chip Ganassi
team stepping up. I already knew they
would be a good team this year. The team
I wanted to step up to help out Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi this year
was Richard Childress Racing. Then look
at Ryan Newman won last weekend. They need
to do more than just that though. Newman
usually would win a race or two and have some good finishes, but
Paul Menard and Austin Dillon need to step it up. If they can’t win, at least have a good top-5
or top-10 car to help in the manufacturer standings.
I’m not worried about Hendrick
Motorsports right now. Chase Elliott is
leading the way for HMS. Kasey Kahne is
running well this year than he did last year.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. will step it back up.
I know his time is coming. And
Jimmie Johnson is just having a little bad luck. He will definitely step it up. JJ doesn’t usually show up until the sixth
thru eighth race of the season. And when
he does get started again, just look out for him not to quit. JJ knows how to get on a run.
And plus the only people doing it
for Ford is still Penske Racing. So, SHR
has not really brought anything else to Ford.
I do not like hearing that SHR is going to help out Ford a lot. No they are not. Penske Racing has already been doing
something for Ford. Roush Fenway Racing
is still hit or miss every weekend.
This is a close manufacturer battle
and I love it. Next weekend will be
Martinsville. Hopefully, Jimmie Johnson
and the 48 team will come to life. I
miss Jeff Gordon. He is always the best
HMS driver at Martinsville Speedway. He
is always leading the way. JJ is now the
best driver at Martinsville and this is his opportunity. I think Martinsville is going to be a good
race on Sunday. I can’t wait.
Congrats to Larson for winning the
race on Sunday. I knew he could do
it. Larson did showed these people that
he is in it to win it. I’m glad that he
did not talk negative of his 2nd place finishes. Larson knew that his wins were coming. It is all about timing. Larson showed these critics. Larson embracing his 2nd place
finishes helped him to have confidence to keep doing a good job because good
finishes always pays off. 2nd
place finishes pays a lot of points too.
He keeps building up to the win or wins to come.
