Could the Coke Zero 400 Possibly Have Been Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Last Race at Daytona International Speedway?
So, if you haven’t been living under a
rock or in a cave, you know that this season is the last full-time season for Dale Earnhardt
Jr. Last night could have possibly been
his last race at Daytona Internationally Speedway. Who really knows?
Dale
may not even know. The reason I say this
is because if someone is to replace him in the 88 next season, where is the
ride going to come from? There is a 4
car cap in the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series. The only time there could be 5 car teams
under an organization is when the driver is a rookie. I know he wants to race the car under Mr.
Rick Hendrick (Mr. H), but it will be impossible if someone else is replacing
him in the car next season. He may be
able to race in the 88 car for the Clash or the Shootout in the beginning of
the season. It is a different story for
when it comes to a point’s race.
I hope to still see Dale racing in a
few races next season. I know the tracks
would more likely be at Daytona and Talladega Superspeedway. It would be cool. I wanted to see Jeff Gordon do that at a
couple of his favorite tracks, but I understood that he would not be able
too. I’m glad to see him in the booth
calling the races on Fox during the first half of the season. I think it is going to be complicated for
Dale to be able to do this if someone else is in the 88 car. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Dale had a fast car in the race
Saturday night during the Coke Zero 400.
He got wrecked or pushed up into the wall by Paul Menard. Dale thought he had a tire going down, but
the tire went down after Menard pushed him up into the wall. And then Dale was able to come back into the
6th position right before Kevin Harvick blew a tire right in front
of him. It was over with for Dale then. He was not able to get back out there like he
did earlier in the race. He could have
won the race if it wasn’t for being caught up in an incident that was not of
his control.
It was so sad to see that. I wanted to see Dale win that race. He really had a fast car. It was a disappointment to see though and I
know his real fans were heart broken.
Yes I had to say real fans. You
are not a real fan when you continue to talk down on someone you say that you
are a fan of. I read the comments from
Dale’s so call fans. The negativity
doesn’t help any especially when it is out of his control. I remember those days of some of Jeff’s fan
talking so negative about him. They were
not true fans. Drivers would like for
some positive vibes to be sent their way from their fans. Being negative towards your favorite driver isn't
helping anyone and they do read your negative tweets so please stop it.
I have faith in Dale winning a race
before the playoffs start. Anything can
and will happen especially when it comes to these stage races. Remember, all it comes down to is
strategy. You do not need the fastest
car, but you just need one that is good enough to win off strategy. My fingers will be crossed for Dale to get
that last win before he leave just like Jeff did in his last full-time season a
couple of years ago, and Tony Stewart did last year in his.
I’m
done!!! I guess until next time. I hope sooner than later. I’m trying my best to write more so bear with
me.
