My Picks for the Daytona 500

The 60th running of the Daytona 500 is on Sunday.  The excitement for this race is unreal.  I cannot believe the biggest race is tomorrow.  I have a feeling that it is going to be really good.  There will be so much to watch for in this race. You will see some side drafting, blocking, and some single file racing.  It will be a mix of single file racing and double file racing.  I just hope it is more double file racing.
One of the things I do not like on these types of tracks is the big wrecks.  I just hope that there will not be one at all on Sunday.  So, another thing is that it is hard to pick a winner for these types of tracks.  Anyone can win at Daytona with luck and skills.  I do have the top-3 drivers and a dark horse I think that could win the race tomorrow.
In no particular order, my picks are Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, and Kevin Harvick.  Logano has become really good at these restrictor plate tracks in recent years and he does have a Daytona 500 win in 2015.  Harvick has a Daytona 500 win also, but it has been since 2007.  Even though it has been a while for Harvick, he is still pretty good at Daytona.  Elliott doesn’t have a win at all yet, but he is improving at these tracks.  Elliott came close to winning it last year, but he ran out of fuel with a couple of laps to go.
And finally, my dark horse pick is Danica Patrick.  She has some good finishes at these types of tracks.  I think since she is racing her final NASCAR race, she has nothing to lose.  She can go all out.  All she has to do is to dodge the wrecks and be there at the end.  It would be nice to see her get her first NASCAR win in her final NASCAR race.

I’m done!!!  I guess until next time.  I hope sooner than later.
