My Take on the Sprint Cup Talladega Race from Sunday

I am one of the few fans who do not enjoy the pack racing on superspeedway tracks such as Daytona and Talladega.  The only time I enjoy the races at that type of track when there are no big crashes or no cars going airborne and flipping over and over again or barrel rolling.  There are those fans that enjoy that type of racing.  They love the crashes.  Sometime you have to wonder what is going on in the heads of the fans who love to watch drivers crash into the wall, drivers getting caught in “the Big One”, drivers going airborne, and drivers flipping at least 2 times.
I worry about the safety of the drivers when it comes to restrictor plate racing on superspeedway tracks.  There were a few drivers who got out of the car and were a little shaken up.  It was so terrible to see.  Drivers such as Danica Patrick and A.J. Allmendinger were a lot shaken up after their wrecks.  Patrick said that she never had a hit so hard like she did today.  And trust me that Patrick been in some bad crashes on these restrictor plate tracks.
There were a couple of drivers who went airborne today and maybe flipping a couple of times or barrel rolling before they landed on the wheels thankfully.  The first one was Chris Buescher, and the other driver was Matt Kenseth.  Those were so terrible to see.  It is really sad actually since a few years ago NASCAR stated that they were going to fix the problem of keeping the cars on the ground.  Well, the problem did not get fixed.
The race had over half of the cars involved in the big crashes today.  During one of "the Big Ones," there were at least 17 cars involved in the crash.  The race ended with a big crash just right before getting to the finished line on the last lap.  The race was nothing but a demolition race with all the cars tore it.  It was terrible to see.
The way some of the fans talk that they do not care about the drivers getting injured or killed from these big crashes.  Yes of course safety improvements are the reason why all the drivers involved in the crashes were able to walk away.  But what if something happens that will not save the drivers.  I don’t want this to be a wakeup call for NASCAR and some of these small minded fans.  I wish someone would put some of these fans who love these crashes in the cars on the superspeedway to show them what the drivers have to go through.  Maybe, they will see why some of the drivers hate these types of races.
NASCAR needs to come up with a solution to stop these big crashes and to stop the cars from going airborne.  NASCAR need to stop listening to the fans who like to see a driver in crashes or hitting the wall and start listening to the fans who cares about the safety of the drivers.  Yes of course the improvement of safety has improved, but we do not want them to keep pressing their luck until something goes wrong.  Restrictor plate racing isn’t technically racing.  They need to come up with other solutions, and I’m not talking about getting rid of these tracks.  There is always a solution for everything.
