I Thought the Xfinity Finish Was Great
I enjoyed the finish of the NASCAR
Xfinity race. I had no problems with the
finish. But apparently, we do have those
NASCAR fans that want to complain about every single little thing that is wrong
with NASCAR. There are things to
complain about at times, but not this time.
I saw no problems at the end of the race.
These are the things that some of
the fans thought were a problem, but they really were not. First, some of the fans complained about
NASCAR not making a call when Elliott Sadler and Joey Logano were locking bumpers. I do not know about that because there was
other drivers were doing the same.
The next thing that some of the
fans were complaining was the Sadler going below the yellow line issue. Some say that Sadler should not have been
giving the win because he went below the yellow line. There is a rule that the driver can’t go
below the yellow line, but there is an exception. The exception of the rule is when you are
forced below the yellow line. In Sadler
case, it is clearly an exception. Logano
was trying to block Sadler, but he did it too late. Logano made contact with Sadler and then
Sadler had to avoid getting wrecked out by Logano when he was coming down on
him. So, Sadler had to go below the
yellow line to avoid getting wrecked. If
he did not do that, we would be talking about Sadler being involved in a crash. And by the
way, Logano admitted that he was trying to block Sadler.
The last thing that some of the fans
were complaining about was that NASCAR should have not thrown the caution
flag. Some of the fans wanted the
drivers to race back to the finish line.
NASCAR does have in the rule book that they would throw a caution flag
on the final lap in the event of a driver wrecking in front of the field for
safety reasons. NASCAR made a good call
to throw the flag with Logano wrecking in front of the field. They had to get the cars to slow down to keep
from causing a bigger crash. When NASCAR
threw out the caution, Sadler was the winner.
And Brennan Poole was
not the winner just because he made it to the finish line. Once the caution flag is out, the field
freezes.
NASCAR made the right call for
everything that had gone on at the end of the race. This is a situation that the fans should move
on and not try to make a bigger issue out of.
If a fan wants to complain about that finish, they just want to whine
about something that is so obvious.
Remember fans, you have to learn to pick and choose your battles. Everything is not worth complaining
about. If a rule was not broken, just
shut up about it. Complain when a rule
is broken.
