NASCAR Really Did It This Time
On Thursday, NASCAR gave a waiver to
Tony Stewart that he is eligible to be able to qualify for the Chase just as
long as he finishes in the top-30 with at least a win. I think that is so good for Stewart to get the
waiver. It does not matter to me where
his injuries came from. Things happen
sometimes so this was a good thing to do.
I give NASCAR props for doing this.
Stewart should be able to have a chance to qualify for the Chase. If some fans have a problem with this, it is
really their problem because I do not care whatsoever. Stewart will be back into his #14 car this
weekend in Richmond. It will be good to
see him back. Welcome back Smoke!!!
The problem I have with NASCAR is
the $35,000 fine to Tony Stewart for NASCAR calls it a violation under the
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rule Book coming under section 12.8.1 actions that is
disparaging to the sport. What did I
think of this? I was shaking my head in
disbelief. What is NASCAR thinking? I do not get this. Stewart did not say anything against the
sport. He was expressing his concern of
the safety of the sport with the lug nuts issue. NASCAR got this very wrong. A few weeks ago Kyle Busch said on his radio
that NASCAR fixes races just like the WWE or something close to the matter he
said. NASCAR had done nothing. Busch should have been fine under that same
rule since he said some disparaging against the sport. NASCAR is so backward right now. I do not get what they are trying to
prove. NASCAR made a huge mistake by
penalizing Stewart. And by the way NASCAR
fans, this issue of NASCAR fining Stewart is the best time to complain. This is the very issue that you should complain
about. This was so wrong on so many
levels for NASCAR to fine Stewart. It is
a little pathetic in my eyes. It really
made me see red. I guess it is all right
with NASCAR for the drivers to talk about them being compared to the WWE, but
you should not express your concerns for the safety of the drivers, fans, or
crews. NASCAR is driving me crazy right
now. And by the way, I agree with
everything Stewart said about the lug nuts issue.
Some of the fans are saying that
maybe the drivers should have their teams put on the 5 lug nuts. Ok.
What if they do that? The problem
is that while some of the teams put on 5 lug nuts, some of the other teams will
not and they will lose spots when coming off pit road. And there will still be a risk of safety
concern with the teams who will not do the 5 lug nuts rule. The driver with 3 lug nuts could wreck on the
track and take out another driver who did use the 5 lug nuts. What good of some of them doing the 5 lug
nuts with the safety of other people is still put at risk when the other teams
are still doing 3 or 4? This issue is a
safety issue and a competition issue.
NASCAR has to do something on a competition stand point and a safety standpoint. If some of the drivers
do the 5 lug nuts, it isn’t going to fix anything with the other teams still using
3 or 4 lug nuts.
