The Bump and Run that Saved the Richmond Ending
I really enjoyed the ending of the
race. The last lap past for the
win. I really thought that Carl Edwards
would not be able to get back up to Kyle Busch.
He really showed me and everybody else wrong. Edwards was able to get back to Busch bumper
and to give him a bump to regain the lead from Busch.
This was the best finish today in
racing. Of course Busch did not like
it. You can tell that he did not like it
by his interviews. He did not really
want to talk about the move that Edwards had put on him. And who could blame him. He was that close to getting his third Sprint
Cup win of this season. Busch was so
close to getting another win. But
Edwards had to do what he had to do to get the win. Edwards is racing for his sponsors and
team. He was not supposed to just let
Busch win.
I think Busch would have done the
same to him if the roles were reverse.
Busch have done it to other drivers just to get the win. I remember Busch dive bombing drivers to go
for the win. There have been times when
he went 3-wide just to get the win.
Busch cannot be too mad at what Edwards did to him because he has done
the same in the past. And anyway, I
thought that this is what short track racing is all about. I thought racing is rubbing unless it depends
on the driver.
Well, I did enjoy the race a lot
from beginning to end. Per NASCAR, today’s
race had 23 lead changes, which was the most lead changes since 2007 at
Richmond. I think moving the Richmond
race to a daytime race was a good move on NASCAR part. I believe the slick track made everything so
much better and fun for us fans to watch.
Even though I did enjoy the race, I bet it is some fan somewhere who did
not like the race today.
